Pure Foodie Heaven in the heart of Barcelona

Barcelona has a word class dinning and drinking scene full of culture, vibrancy and has an equally impressive market to support it.

It might seem a bit touristy as you first enter the interesting building but if you head towards the back you will soon find the typical Spanish vendors with cheeses, fragrant olives, authentic jamon hams hanging in the hustle and bustle.

As I pull up a que at one of the many food vendors I am in awe as I gaze at the local Catalonian delicacies being served up on large platters. Let’s see…snails, a plate sautéed wild forest mushrooms, how about some eggs with thinly shaved truffle for breakfast, or a local favourite of Percebes, barnacles that looks a lot like ‘chicken’s toes’ kind of ugly but trust me when they fry them up with a generous Spanish spoonful of garlic and parsley that’s the last thing on your mind!
